Welcome to VINOEURO 2026 Tuscany
From 2–7 June 2026, Tuscany will host the UENFW VINOEURO Italy 2026 – the European Championship of National Football Teams of Winemakers.
Organized by the UENFW (Union of European National Football Teams of Winemakers), the tournament unites ten wine nations through football, wine, friendship and education. Today, the UENFW represents more than 350 licensed players across Europe and continues to grow as a unique international network of wine professionals.
Beyond the matches, VINOEURO 2026 stands for cultural exchange, networking and European friendship. Highlights include international wine evenings, winery visits and the educational conference “VINOEDUCA” at Ornellaia with leading experts from the wine sector.
We are also pleased to welcome guests and observers from Spain, Poland and Chile, underlining the growing international importance of the UENFW movement.
A special thank you goes to our Italian hosts, 11 del Vino, for their passion, hospitality and commitment in bringing this extraordinary event to Tuscany.
Football connects people.
Wine creates identity.

WINE
Wine has been produced for thousands of years. The earliest known traces of wine are from Georgia . Wine has long played an important role in religion. Red wine was associated with blood by the ancient Egyptians and was used by both the Greek cult of Dionysus and the Romans in their Bacchanalia; Judaism also incorporates it in the Kiddush and Christianity in the Eucharist. FOOTBALL
Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. There are a number of references to traditional, ancient, or prehistoric ball games played by indigenous peoples in many different parts of the world. Contemporary codes of football can be traced back to the codification of these games at English public schools during the nineteenth century. (Wikipedia)
EDUCATION
Plato founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in Europe. Education began in prehistory, as adults trained the young in the knowledge and skills deemed necessary in their society. In pre-literate societies, this was achieved orally and through imitation. As cultures began to extend their knowledge beyond skills that could be readily learned through imitation, formal education developed. (Wikipedia)
