ANADIA

Anadia is a city (cidade) in Portugal. In 2010, Anadia was the most economically managed district of its size in Portugal.

The history of the municipality is poorly documented before the Roman era, although some vestiges of early Paleolithic (Monte Crasto, Carvalhais and Vila Nova de Monsarros), Neolithic (Moita) and Iron Age (Monte Crasto) artifacts have been studied in this area.

OLIVEIRA DO BAIRRO

Oliveira do Bairro (Portuguese for: olive tree of the neighbourhood) is a municipality and town in Portugal with 6385 inhabitants. Celtiberians settled in the district, now the municipality of Mamarrosa. Finds prove the presence of the Romans in the present-day municipalities of Palhaça and Bustos. The present-day town is first documented in a deed of donation from 922, under the name Ulveira. Oliveira do Bairro was granted its first town charter in 1514 by King Manuel I, who elevated the town to a vila (small town). In 1836 it became an independent district (concelho). In 2003, Oliveira do Bairro was elevated to a city (cidade).

MEALHADA

Mealhada is a city and a municipality located in Aveiro District in Portugal

The municipality of Luso is home to thermal baths and the spa town of Buçaco with the historic Palácio Hotel do Buçaco, the protected forest area of the Serra do Buçaco and the military museum focussing on the Battle of Buçaco (1810). Roman archaeological sites and a large number of religious buildings are further attractions in the district. The historic centre of Mealhada is also a protected monument.
